This webinar series is organized by IncluTech at The Coding School. IncluTech’s mission is to educate, empower and lead the next generation of inclusive technologists. They define an inclusive technologist as a highly skilled individual who thinks critically about how the technology being created impacts different kinds of people and employs strategies to mitigate bias.

This panel is for middle and high school students, families, and educators to better understand the what inclusive design is and how we can make technology that is inclusive of several identities and abilities. Bias is baked into technology but we can recognize our biases to positively impact everyone who uses it.

Participants formed teams, virtually met their customers, and worked with mentors—all before pitching their businesses to our panel of expert judges.

Workday has begun to make huge strides in reversing that afterthought mentality and truly baking accessibility into the way we approach building our products.

How did we do that? We’ll share with you where we started, where we’re at now, all we’ve accomplished, and where we’re headed. While Workday is becoming a leader in the accessibility space, we know this is a never ending journey. Hopefully you’ll be able to join us along the way.

Google Boulder Startup Weekend: Accessibility in Tech

The competition organizers will provide participants with the fundamentals of accessible design and development, and grade final presentations on their ability to be utilized by users of all backgrounds.
